With all the fun we had in Switzerland and Croatia in 2015, we decided we had to go back to Europe in 2016.  We decided we would start in Portugal, then fly to Southern France and take a road trip up to Paris. I’ll use this France travel journal to give reviews of our adventures, as well as which cards we used to fund our trip.

From Portugal, we flew straight into Marseilles. We spent about half the day in Marseilles hiking to the Calanques, then continued our drive on to Nice. We were planning on kayaking the Verdon Gorge, but rain spoiled those plans. We made the best of it and meandered the old town of Nice. We then drove up through Italy, and under Mount Blanc to the ski town of Chamonix and continued on to Annecy. We then drove through the town of Beaune on our way to finish our French adventures with a five-day visit to Paris.
